KAC has successfully applied to BHP for funding to develop a business model for an Aboriginal Community Hub in Port Augusta to support displaced and vulnerable people, who have been and continue to be displaced by COVID-19 impacts on their communities.
This initiative builds on the successful local partnership model developed through the highly successful Protecting or People (POP) program at a time when the threat of COVID-19 in Aboriginal communities is again increasing due to border openings by the end of November. KAC will facilitate the development of a comprehensive scope/feasibility study through consultation with Aboriginal leaders, local service providers and agencies to ensure the Hub can be sustained beyond the initial funding.
