Bridge Art Project
Kokatha Aboriginal Corporation has been asked to provide art work for the Port Augusta bridge project.
We acknowledge and respect that many Aboriginal groups have traditionally used Port Augusta as a meeting place/coming together, and we are keen to work with other traditional owners, Barngarla, and Nukunu on this important project.
So KAC is looking for Kokatha artists to do a painting that depicts Port Augusta as the meeting place/coming together of Aboriginal people, or the Seven Sisters dreaming as it is a story that goes across all the Aboriginal groups, so that we can present at the Bridge working party meeting. This meeting is looking for artwork from many Aboriginal people.
Please forward any ideas and visuals to Kym Chamberlain, Community Support. communitysupport@kokatharntc.com.au
We are also keen to grow our register of Kokatha Artists! From time to time we get requests for Kokatha Artwork and having a register of the many Kokatha artists would assist us in reaching out to the artistic community. Contact Kym to be added to the Artist Register on Ph: 0460 796 977
