Tania Solar – Employment and Training Advisor

Tania has a background in office management and project management within Indigenous Communities as well as having been an Indigenous Workforce Solutions Consultant for a Job Active Agency. We are delighted this role matched her skills and look forward to her helping KAC to get to the next level to create a successful skilled workplace for many.

Her role is working with employers, potential employees, training organisations as well as local networks. with the eventual outcome being the development of a one stop shop for employers to come to when seeking Kokatha and local Indigenous employees. To enhance the opportunities that exist there needs to be the creation of a pathway from skills to employment as well as mentoring and working with people and companies to create long term sustainable employment. 

Tania’s focus for the year is the training and upskilling of Kokatha people by asking what pre employment programs are we needing to get our community ready for some of the projects that are coming available. Ultimately being a local Indigenous voice advocating for the Kokatha community to see how we can get better at getting our foot in the door for local opportunities
