Following on from recent rainfall Kokatha Pastoral, Arid Recovery and Saltbush Ag staff participated in a soil conservation training field day at Roxby Downs Station 9 – 11 March. Training delivered by Col Stanton was focused on lessons learnt from decades of experience to help land managers in practical resource, environment conservation and sustainable land management.
Utilising areas of site erosion caused by the rainfall, training was designed to deliver the knowledge and skills aligned to specific pastoral industry and land management standards. An erosion rehabilitation trial site was established on the Billa Kalina Road, ongoing monitoring of the site conditions and improvements will continue into the future.
