Woomera Prohibited Area - Cancellation of exclusion period

Cancellation of exclusion period scheduled from 22 March to 11 April 2021 – Amber Zone 2

The Department of Defence is cancelling the exclusion period in the Woomera Prohibited Area for Amber Zone 2 between 22 March 2021 and 11 April 2021 (inclusive).

Permit holders will no longer be required to evacuate the Amber Zone 2 area during this period. A map of the zones within the Woomera Prohibited Area is attached for reference.

Exclusion period for Amber Zone 1 remains in force

The following Amber Zone 1 exclusion period remains in force:

  • 8 March 2021 to 9 May 2021 (inclusive)

Those who hold an existing access permission under the Defence Force Regulations 1952 should contact the Woomera Test Range on 1300 972 335 or email: woomera.enquiries@defence.gov.au to discuss access to Amber Zone 1 during the upcoming exclusion period.

Amber Zones 1 and 2 exclusion periods for Financial Year 2020-21

Defence’s exclusion periods within Amber Zones 1 and 2 for the financial year 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022 will be available by 31 March 2021 at www.defence.gov.au/woomera. They will also be advised by email.
