Exclusion period notification
Access to the Woomera Prohibited Area (WPA) in South Australia is subject to exclusion periods during which the Department of Defence may undertake war materiel testing.
For safety and security reasons, designated zones within the WPA will be closed and you may be required to evacuate the area during the notified exclusion periods. Permission or permits may also not be granted to access the WPA during the exclusion periods.
Amber Zone exclusion periods for Financial Year 2020-21
Defence’s exclusion periods within WPA Amber Zones 1 and 2 for the financial year 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021 are listed in Attachment A below

Remaining exclusion periods for Financial Year 2019-20
The remaining exclusion periods for the financial year 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020 that remain in force are:
Amber Zone 1: 3 March 2020 to 4 May 2020 inclusive
Amber Zone 2: 3 March 2020 to 30 March 2020 inclusive
The financial year 2020-21 exclusion periods commence on 1 July 2020.
