A huge thank you to BHP for hosting Kokatha Aboriginal Corporation staff and Directors and their families at the Carrapateena Family Day yesterday.
The group was picked up by bus in Port Augusta and taken out to the Carrapateena mine site, where the day kicked off with a breakfast in the Tjungu dining room.
Attendees were then treated to a tour of the site’s facilities, including the medical centre, gym, recreation room, tavern, dining room, accommodation, and even were treated to a look at the onsite ambulance and fire truck!
Guests also had the chance to join a bus tour of the mine site or participate in a painting activity, before gathering for a barbecue on the Pernatty Pub Deck to wrap up the day.
It was wonderful to spend time together on Country and to share this experience alongside BHP Copper South Australia Asset President Anna Wiley, who also attended the event.
