We are proud to announce that Kokatha Aboriginal Corporation (KAC) is a Gold Sponsor of the 2025 Malka Aboriginal Art Prize – a significant event that celebrates the talent, culture and creative spirit of Aboriginal artists from across the region.
‘Malka’ is a word used by several Aboriginal language groups within the Port Augusta region, meaning mark or painting.
Established by the late Mr Marvin McKenzie Senior, the art show was created to provide a culturally safe and inclusive space for Aboriginal people to showcase their artistic expression.
Now in its 16th year, the Malka awards continue to grow as a platform for both established and emerging artists.
As part of KAC’s commitment to supporting Aboriginal arts and culture a Kokatha representative will be involved in the selection process of the awards and one of the prizes will be named in honour of the Corporation.
