KOKATHA PASTORAL ATTENDS THE SAAL 2025 INDIGENOUS RANGER GATHERING
Kokatha Pastoral team members Zak Johnson-Thomas, Shaqkodan Warren, Graham O’Toole and Adam Wagner were pleased to attend the 2025 SA Arid Lands Indigenous Ranger Gathering at Finniss Springs last week.

Welcomed by Arabana Elders, this year’s gathering was the largest yet, bringing together seven ranger teams from across the SA Arid Lands region.

Rangers took part in workshops on cat trapping, camera monitoring, storytelling through media, and ranger development.

The event also featured a tour of Arabana Country, including Kati-Thanda and the mound springs, guided by Arabana Elders and Rangers.

A big thank you to Arabana Aboriginal Corporation for their warm welcome and for hosting such a valuable event, and to the supporting partners; BHP, Indigenous Desert Alliance, SA Arid Lands Landscape Board and Arid Recovery.
