The Kokatha Aboriginal Corporation (KAC) Strategic Plan is a guide for where KAC wants to go in the future and how we plan to get there. It sets out the goals, priorities and actions that will help shape the work of the Corporation over the coming years. The plan is designed to make sure KAC stays focused on what matters most to Kokatha people and continues building a strong future for our community.
The Strategic Plan was developed through a lot of listening and community consultation. The KAC Directors spoke with community members, staff, Elders, young people and different Kokatha groups to hear what people want to see for the future. Community workshops, surveys and meetings helped shape the plan and make sure it reflects the voices and priorities of Kokatha people.
The plan covers important areas including culture, community, employment, education, housing, economic development, caring for Country and creating opportunities for future generations. It also helps guide decision-making by the KAC Board and management team, so everyone is working towards the same goals.
Most importantly, the Strategic Plan is about creating a shared vision for the future. It gives KAC a clear direction and helps make sure the Corporation remains accountable to the community. The Board sees the Strategic Plan as KAC’s ‘North Star’ to guide the organisation forward in a positive, proactive and united way.
