What an incredible week it’s been at the Kokatha Aboriginal Corporation silk painting workshops, delivered in partnership with Ku Arts and led by renowned Ngangiwumerri textile artist Pilawuk White and her son Niwili White Forrest.
Our sessions were fully booked, with amazing results — have a look at the beautiful silk artworks created by our talented participants!
Over the three days, community members learned to write, symbolise, draw, wax, and paint their stories and identities onto silk, creating powerful pieces of cultural expression.
A heartfelt thank you to Pilawuk and Niwili for providing such a culturally safe and inspiring space for Kokatha artists to connect, share and create.
