The Australian Army 1st Armoured Regiment will be in Port Augusta for ANZAC Day on 25 April.
They have offered to work in partnership with the community to acknowledge, honour and pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People who have served, continue to serve, or who have laid down their life for country.
A special dawn gathering will take place from 5:30pm onwards on Sunday 25 April 2021 at the Red Cliffs Lookout at Arid Lands.
There are so many stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People who served, but were never acknowledged. This special morning will see members of the Regiment present and participating in a dawn service. It will include a fire, smoking ceremony, and a chance to share and hear stories.
BBQ Breakfast will be provided (Bacon & Eggs), as well as tea and coffee. Some chairs will be available, but you are welcome to bring your own as well.
Everyone involved looks forward to sharing this time together.
Everyone in Port Augusta is welcome to come along.
