BHP CARRAPATEENA PPE ART COMPETITION

Calling all emerging Kokatha Artists!

Emerging Kokatha Artists (artists without an already established art business) are invited to enter a competition to design a piece of art that will be printed on PPE worn by workers at the BHP Carrapateena Mine.

Entrants are asked to submit an A4 piece of paper with a draft sketch outlining their piece of artwork, relating to the NAIDOC Week theme For Our Elders. A short bio and story explaining the artwork must also be supplied.

Two winners will be selected, and their work will be printed on the base and sleeves of PPE shirts.

The winners will be chosen by a site-wide survey of workforce members at the Carrapateena Mine.

Applicants can drop their entry into the KAC Office at 35 Flinders Terrace Port Augusta or email a scanned copy to esther.thorn@kokatha.com.au

The winners will be announced during NAIDOC Week 2 July – 9 July.

CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES: COB Friday, 16 June 2023.

This competition is a collaborative exercise aimed at providing a development opportunity for emerging artists, so please feel free to reach out for more information or advice by contacting Esther Thorn on 0475 406 906.
