KOKATHA RANGER PROGRAM - PROGRESS UPDATE
We’re pleased to share an update with our community on the progress being made to support the Kokatha Ranger Program.

Kokatha Aboriginal Corporation (KAC) was awarded $3.7 million in Federal Government funding through the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) to support two ranger teams – one of Kokatha women and one of Kokatha men – over four years.

This is a significant milestone for KAC, marking the first intake of NIAA-funded rangers in more than a decade.

Since the funding announcement last year, important groundwork has continued on Country to make sure our ranger teams are properly supported.

Milestones achieved so far include:
✅Completion of the shade structure
✅Completion of the hay shed and machinery shed
✅Installation of the Female Rangers’ accommodation units
✅Installation of the recreation room and conference room

What’s happening now:
We are currently working toward the installation of decking between the accommodation units to tie the space together and create a functional, welcoming base for our rangers.

Check out the photos of the works completed to date, including the sheds, accommodation, recreation room and conference room – it’s great to see the infrastructure taking shape!

KAC is also continuing to work closely with NIAA officials to plan the next stages of the program.

This program is about caring for Kokatha Country, strengthening culture, and creating real employment opportunities for Kokatha people, now and into the future.

We thank our community for your ongoing support as we continue this important work.
