Kokatha Mining Services (KMS) has doubled its water carting service to Oak Dam, near Woomera, increasing the total contract value to $5.5 million over five years.
KMS launched the service in October last year, with 15,000 litres of potable water collected from Woomera and carted to the newly developed Oak Dam accommodation village.
The water delivery service was increased to 40,000 litres per day in January and has now doubled, with a second operator employed.
Kokatha Aboriginal Corporation Chief Executive David Whitelaw congratulated the KMS staff on their work on ensuring the success of the contract and said he looked forward to many more opportunities at Oak Dam in the future.

Jess Jeeves, Manager Indigenous Procurement said “the initial award was such a proud moment for us at Copper SA. Now, this lift in contract value is highlighting the value of a genuine partnership, with a good outcome for BHP and growing a sustainable ongoing service with Kokatha.”
The potable water delivery service was the first BHP Traditional Owner contract at Oak Dam and was initially valued at $500,000 per annum, which has now been increased to $1.1 million per annum.
