Kokatha Pastoral Land Manager

Kokatha Pastoral currently manage three pastoral stations and employ staff in accordance with their business plan. Roxby Downs, Andamooka and Purple Downs stations are located in an arid environment approximately 560 kilometres north of Adelaide, South Australia. The properties are approximately 500,000 Ha and encompass sacred aboriginal sites, wildlife corridors, a working cattle station and a huge variety of significant arid zone flora and fauna.
An opportunity now exists to continue to manage the properties’ natural resources, infrastructure development and cattle agistment business, as well as investigate and develop alternative business opportunities including on site accommodation, tourism and biodiversity credit projects. Outside contractors or livestock owners attend to livestock management as needed. Paid casual employment may also be available for a partner in hospitality/tourism aspects.
The Kokatha Pastoral Land Manager plays an important role within Kokatha Pastoral Pty Ltd (KP) and is accountable for managing a small team that delivers projects and initiatives to achieve improved environmental and agricultural sustainability. The aim of the business and projects are to protect and enhance natural assets by increasing the adoption of sustainable agriculture practices.
The successful applicant will have professional qualifications and/or substantial equivalent experience in agriculture or environmental science, with a sound knowledge of the principles of natural resource management.
