Are you interested in joining the Kokatha General Trust’s Trustee Advisory Committee (TAC)?

The TAC plays a very important role, helping to make sure that any decisions made by the Kokatha General Trust, are made in the best interests of Kokatha Common Law Holders.

There are currently FOUR positions available, and we encourage eligible people with the right skills, experience and a passion for contributing to the future of the Kokatha community to put their hand up.

As a member of the TAC, you will be involved in:

Approving Distribution Policies for consideration by Common Law Holders.

Assessing applications against the Distribution Policy and consenting to distributions.

Supporting the Trustee in managing relationships with Kokatha Aboriginal Corporation, its members and Kokatha Common Law Holders.

Monitoring Trust costs and expenses.

Providing advice to the Trustee on the Investment Policy.

Approving the Trust’s Strategic Plan.

Where possible, the Trustee is looking for people with:

A TAFE, university or college qualification, or relevant life experience in place of formal education.

Previous Board or Committee experience.

Skills or experience in community development, communication, leadership, negotiation, strategic planning, social policy or similar areas.

A willingness to complete recognised governance training within six months of appointment (for example, through the Australian Institute of Company Directors or Community Directors Institute).

You don’t need to have every qualification or skill listed. Relevant life experience and a willingness to learn are also valued.

Nominations must be received by 5pm on Friday 6 November 2026 and voting will take place at the Kokatha Common Law Holders’ Meeting on Sunday 22 November 2026.
