The Kokatha Trusts and Kokatha Aboriginal Corporation Board held a joint meeting on Friday 3 November for the first time in the Corporation’s history.

The meeting was organised to ensure the board and the trusts are working together and clearly communicating available funding programs to the community.

Some of the key outcomes of the meeting included:

Updating attendees on the roles and responsibilities of the Kokatha General Trusts and the current governance structure and available funding.

Developing an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the Kokatha Compensation Trust and the current governance structure and available funding.

Providing the trusts with an update on the KAC Board’s achievements.

Gaining a commitment from all boards to further develop KAC policies collaboratively via a workshop in early 2024.

Consultation on the draft KGT Strategic Plan.

Discussion about future trust structures.

The KAC Board and Kokatha General Trust TAC are committed to strengthening their relationship through regular collaborative meetings, ongoing regular updates, policy development and improved reporting.
