The BHP Carrapateena team has been busy finalising the new PPE shirts featuring designs by Kokatha artists.
Emerging artists were invited to enter designs for the shirts earlier this year, with workers at the Carrapateena mine selecting two winning entries.
The chosen designs were by Stephanie Singh-Highfold (top images) and Presten Warren.
Stephanie’s work is a representation of Elders past and present coming together in person and in spirit, while Presten’s piece focuses on respect for the environment, sustainability, communication, honesty, loyalty and generosity.
The shirts will be available for employees at the Carrapateena mine to wear in early 2024, as a reminder of the rich Kokatha culture and history of the land on which they work every day.
