There was so much fun had at a Kokatha presentation at St. Barb’s Parish School in Roxby Downs this morning.
Kokatha Safety and Wellbeing Coordinator Tjiangu Thomas, along with Kokatha Pastoral workers Jaiya Warrior, Justin Coulthard and Jamahl Ware, shared stories about Kokatha history, language, art and life on the Kokatha stations.
The students loved seeing traditional men’s tools including the kali (boomerang) and kulata (spear).
They also learned several Kokatha words and one student had a go at an Emu dance!
Kokatha was invited to St. Barb’s, which is on Kokatha Country, as part of an early NAIDOC week celebration.
