The KAC Northern Water subcommittee, which is made up of CHC and Board members, KAC Heritage and Kokatha Pastoral, recently met with representatives from the Office of Northern Water Delivery at Andamooka Station.
This government project is for a desal plant in the Spencer Gulf and a pipeline going up to the BHP operations near Roxby Downs, as well as to Whyalla, Port Augusta, Woomera and Pimba along the way.
Approximately 275km of the pipeline is on the Kokatha Native Title determination area, as well as some pumping stations, storage tanks and substations. For more information about the project please click on this link 👉https://www.northernwater.sa.gov.au/
The subcommittee is negotiating a Native Title agreement with Northern Water for the project. An agreement will then be recommended to the Board and brought back to the Kokatha Common Law Holders for approval.
