Kokatha Aboriginal Corporation (KAC) was pleased to participate in the Roxby NAIDOC celebration on Saturday 7 September.
The event had to be rescheduled from its original date during NAIDOC Week due to forecast wet weather.
Saturday’s celebration at Richardson Place in Roxby Downs was a huge success, with live music by Dusty Feet Mob, Katie Aspel, Mick McKenzie, Willis Brothers and DJ Superstan.
A big congratulations to KAC Community Support Officer Kym Chamberlain (pictured with Roxby Council Chief Executive Roy Blight) who organised the Kokatha participation on the day.
Kokatha Elder Elaine Kite did the Welcome to Country and Kokatha community members cooked Malu Wipu (kangaroo tail) and made damper over a fire.
Well done to everyone involved in making the celebration such a success, including the Kokatha Pastoral crew who provided support on the day and @roxbycouncil for hosting the event.
