Kokatha Common Law Holders have voted to authorise a retention lease agreement with BHP for its Oak Dam exploration site in South Australia’s north.
More than 350 Kokatha Common Law Holders attended a meeting in Port Augusta today to vote on the agreement.
The Oak Dam Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) is now expected to be signed and executed in coming weeks.
Congratulations to the Oak Dam Working Group, our legal team Camatta Lempens and the Kokatha Aboriginal Corporation Directors on their work to negotiate this agreement.
Thank you to the amazing team of workers from both Kokatha Aboriginal Corporation, our casual Kokatha employees and West Augusta Football Club for making the day such a success.
A special acknowledgement to the Kokatha Pastoral crew for putting on an outstanding breakfast once again.
Thank you also to everyone who attended.
